Dr. Watson Inn -Just recently finished the Inn is a 2500 square feet traditional plantation style home that offers 3 bedrooms along with a history room full of the Flowers family’s history. The inn was constructed to fill a need for local overnight accommodations for visitors to the area and visitors to the families located inside the Flowers Plantation development. –www.flowersplantation.com
Dr Watson was a very large part of the local history. He was a surgeon in the war of 1812, a very large land owner in a few of the southern states and his land which is now Flowers Plantation was farmed for tobacco and cotton. His home, which has now been reconstructed as the Inn, was used as a hospital during the Civil war. The Inn is located in the exact same location of his original home and sits parallel to the old Hwy 42 East.
